Name: Kimmy Fitzgerald
Occupation: Pilates/Fitness Instructor
What is your favorite Pilates move (mat or machine)?
My favorite pilates move is the cat walkover on the Cadillac. It appeals to me because it takes strength, control and athleticism to perform the move the best part of this move is that it makes you feel like a kid playing on the monkey bars.
Why is health/fitness important to you?
Health and fitness has always been a part of my life, even as a child, so I really don't know any other way. I have to admit there were times in my life when I was less health conscious than I am now but it was never out of control and I have always felt a sense of being physically fit.
What is your health/fitness philosophy?
Everything in moderation. I feel if you take things on in a fanatical way, something is eventually going to give and it will break you. I feel this way about food, fitness and in lifestyle habits.
What is your favorite meal?
I guess breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day. I cannot start my day without some fruit.
Describe your perfect day?
I have two perfect day options. Wake up fairly early to meditate and have my favorite meal of the day. After a fresh snowfall, ski first tracks all day long in the backcountry. Option two would be spend the day on the beach.
Name two songs are in your workout rotation right now?
Bread and Water by Ryan Bingham
Nobody's fault but mine by Led Zeppelin
Name one book you think everyone should have to read?
This is a tough question...there are so many. Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger.
Who is/are your hero(s)? Why?
Michelle Obama. She is one of the smartest and most elegant woman of our time. I love the positive message and valuable work ethic she gives to young women.
Name three people you would like to do a workout with, living or dead?
Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, and Joesph Pilates.
If this wasn’t your occupation what would it be?
I am kind of obsessed with interior design.
What is your scariest moment?
Becoming a mom.
What is your happiest moment?
Becoming a mom.
What is the best thing about what you do?
Hearing about how great my clients feel because they consistently workout and reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle
If you could give $100,000 to one single charitable organization right now, what would it be and why?
I guess I would donate to some sort of mental health organization because it is so lacking in our world.
